San Francisco, CA – December 1, 2004 – Louis Tetu, CEO of Taleo Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise talent management solutions for large organizations, recently announced the appointment of Jeffrey T. Carr as executive vice president of global marketing and chief strategy officer.

Tetu stated, “We are very pleased to welcome Jeff to our executive team as we continue to grow and expand our operations. Jeff is one of the top senior executives in the human capital management solutions industry, and brings more than 20 years of sales, marketing, general management and global operations experience to Taleo from a number of leading public and private enterprise software and ERP organizations.” He added, “We are confident in his ability to excel in this newly defined role, where he will oversee the overall company strategy and solution positioning, along with the global marketing function, including solution, field and corporate marketing and communication, product management and solution consulting.”

Carr most recently served as chairman and CEO of Motiva, Inc., a software vendor based in Pleasanton, CA. At Motiva, beginning in 2001, Carr helped transform the company into a thought leader in the Enterprise Incentive Management (EIM) software industry. He helped launch the company’s J2EE global product suite, re-branded the company and dramatically increased year-over-year revenues during his tenure.

Prior to Motiva, Carr served as president of RightWorks Corporation, a leading provider of B2B e-business applications based in San Jose, CA. Carr joined RightWorks in early 2000 and helped the company ramp to more than 400 employees, including expanding North American operations and opening subsidiaries in Europe and Asia Pacific, while revenues grew exponentially from $5M to more than $45M.

Prior to RightWorks, Carr spent nine years with PeopleSoft, Inc., and was one of the first 50 employees to join the company prior to its 1992 IPO. After successful sales management roles over the company’s mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, Carr served as general manager of the federal government and manufacturing business units, before being promoted to president of the products division, with full operations and P&L responsibility for more than $300M revenue and 1,000 employees. His last role at PeopleSoft was EVP, worldwide marketing, strategy and emerging markets, with full responsibility for global marketing, business strategy, M&A, and the launch of new products and sales programs, reporting directly to Chairman and CEO Dave Duffield, and later to Craig Conway. Carr began his career working for human resource management software vendor Integral Systems as a sales manager and for the City of Cincinnati as a systems analyst during the 1980’s.

Reporting to Carr at Taleo Corporation are Diane Pardee, senior vice president of corporate marketing and communication; Martin Ouellet, founder and vice president of product management; Albert Lopez, director of solution consulting; and Bill Smith, director of sales operations.

Carr stated, “It’s rare when you get an opportunity to join a company like Taleo that has a commanding leadership position in a strategic and growing market with both superior technology and great people. Our software-as-a-service model enables organizations to simplify their workforce management business processes, reduce operating costs, and to focus on their core strengths and core business. Taleo has emerged as the number one provider of on-demand global enterprise talent management solutions and I’m delighted to be joining the team to help extend that leadership position.”
