Recruitsoft Acquires White Amber to Create Recruitsoft Workforce OnDemand™

Solution to manage contingent, temporary and service contract workers and supplier relationships, combined with Recruitsoft Suite for all permanent hire types, to positively impact profitability, productivity and risk reduction for large, complex organizations

San Francisco, CA – October 22, 2003

Recruitsoft, Inc., the leading provider of staffing management services and solutions, today announced it has acquired White Amber, Inc., the non-permanent workforce management solution leader with the industry’s largest clients. The acquisition extends the value Recruitsoft delivers to enterprise customers seeking to source, attract, hire, redeploy and manage both permanent employees and non-permanent workers, by integrating all sources of talent onto one platform. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Recruitsoft Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Louis Tetu stated, “This acquisition further signifies Recruitsoft’s commitment to providing our large and global customers with the most advanced workforce logistics solutions to meet their evolving needs.” He added, “White Amber helps companies such as Wachovia, KPMG and Xerox to ensure that contingent, temporary and service contract worker positions are filled with the right people at the most cost-effective rates. We welcome White Amber’s employees and customers into the growing community at Recruitsoft worldwide and look forward to working together to ensure that our respective solutions are brought together, and continue to deliver our customers the technology and services they need to optimize workforce logistics today and in the future.”

He continued, “There is a significant opportunity in the marketplace today for large and global organizations to drive savings and productivity improvements by further integrating all types of workers on one common platform, allowing the best processes to be configured enterprise-wide. White Amber complements our offerings well and positions us to capitalize on a wide range of opportunities. By further integrating worker types, applications and logistics, organizations are able to best forecast workforce requirements and determine when it’s in the company’s best interest to hire permanent employees versus non-permanent workers, and base and predefine considerations such as length of the position or project, associated costs as well as the required skills. Recruitsoft Workforce OnDemand will do just that.”

Similar to the permanent staffing solutions available in the Recruitsoft Enterprise Staffing Management Suite, The Recruitsoft Workforce OnDemand solution centralizes, streamlines and configures the right processes for temporary, contingent and service contract workers. The agreement represents a major step forward in the human capital management market, allowing organizations the opportunity to map workers – both permanent and temporary – based on talent profiles and skill sets, whether they need a permanent employee or temporary worker, or are looking to deploy talent from a temporary to a permanent position.

Recruitsoft is at work for more than 400,000 users in 85 countries. In addition, the Recruitsoft Workforce OnDemand Solution, with more than 90,000 users, is available immediately and offered separately or as part of the Recruitsoft Enterprise Staffing Management Suite, which also includes Recruitsoft Professional, Recruitsoft Hourly, Recruitsoft Agency, Recruitsoft Workforce Mobility, Recruitsoft Regulatory & Diversity and Recruitsoft Campus. Recruitsoft also announced that it plans to immediately hire 30 new R&D professionals following the acquisition, adding to the company’s 190-member R&D team to support its plans for growth and expansion.

Mutual of Omaha Manager of Strategic Staffing Dan Bankey stated, “The Recruitsoft Enterprise Staffing Management Suite serves our needs for all hiring from campus and hourly to professional. The solutions have allowed us to configure processes that ensure consistency across Mutual of Omaha to favorably impact both retention and productivity. We believe that having integrated non-permanent worker solutions will further enhance our staffing process and ability to centralize and measure staffing across our organization and, importantly, will allow us to better forecast workforce requirements on an enterprise-wide basis.”

AMR Research Director of Human Capital Management Monica Barron noted, “Employers need to manage internal and external candidates and resumes and report cost-effectively while making sure that they have a high-quality candidate pool for the vacancies that do occur. Companies are also paying attention to contingent workforce procurement and the effect it has on labor costs and company performance. You may not be hiring many new employees at the moment, but don’t discount the ability of workforce acquisition applications to help you source and select higher quality candidates for the openings you do have--at a lower cost--while managing internal mobility to increase retention rates.” (Source: AMR Research Alert: "Workforce Acquisition, Optimization, and Incentive Management Are Bright Spots in HCM," July 10, 2003)
